Due to popular demand and a very high client referral rate, our booking trend has been 12-18 months in advance. We recommend that once you have secured your date and reception site, that you also secure your cake. If you are looking for service less than 12 months out, please still inquire about availability; we will be happy to check the calendar in a most sincere effort to make your dream wedding cake a reality.
How soon do we need to order our wedding cake?
Can we come in to taste and see your work?
If your event requires less than 100 servings of cake or sweet treats, we invite you to stop in the bakery and purchase a slice of torte or gourmet filled cupcake or two for your sampling pleasure to enjoy the quality and flavors of our product. Then simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information, event information, cake ideas and design images and we will get back to you to discuss your special request. Most smaller events can be handled via email and phone for your convenience.
100 or more servings; simply click on the Consultation/Tasting page under Wedding Cakes and submit your information. Once received, we will call you to schedule your 50 minute professional consultation/tasting with the owner/baker/decorator. We will brainstorm with your ideas, our creative experiences, sample cake and filling combinations of your choice, and view our displays and photo gallery in preparation for the creation of your dream wedding cake. Get a credit for our standard $25.00 consultation fee by mentioning this online promo when you book your contract with a deposit at your consultation!
The overall cost of your cake depends on the cake flavor, filling, style, number of servings, and display options.
What determines the pricing of our cake?
Yes, although this option can occasionally have you running short of a popular flavor and potentially disappoint some guests. Choosing our signature Cheez Torte offers your guests both cake and cheesecake in each slice! Pick from our list of specialty flavors for an absolutely delectable experience, or we even have a myriad of flavor options available for a build-your-own option. These are things we would love to chat about during your consultation!
Can we choose more than one flavor of cake?
Our delivery and set-up service starts at $50.
Do you charge for delivery?
We require 50% down for your deposit which will reserve and lock in your date and delivery time. Your final balance is due no later than three weeks prior to your event.
How much of a deposit do you require?
Yes, and for cakes $600 or more it is our gift to you – a complimentary certificate to redeem a FRESH first anniversary cake! Just call in your order at least 7 business days in advance and you can pick up your first anniversary cake! No freezer burned cake for you two! (bride and/or groom must be present at pick-up and provide the original certificate as well – NO EXCEPTIONS) For cakes less than $600, the top tier would not be counted for guest servings unless you choose not to save it or you can purchase a certificate at current pricing and simply call the next year a week in advance to pick up a fresh anniversary cake
Is the top tier included in the total number of servings?
As fresh flowers have become a more popular choice on wedding cakes, Sweet Perfections has you covered with many years of floral placement experience. We ask that your fresh flowers be left on their stems and in water at the base of the cake table for day of event so upon our delivery of your cake they are ready for us to do our magic. This service starts at $25.
What if we want fresh flowers on our cake?
Do we need to return anything after our wedding?
Yes, only if you have contracted rental(s)/refundables. A list of refundables will be secured to the bottom of a box, generally located under the cake table, for which the cleaned refundables are to be returned clean within five calendar days of your event to receive a full refund.
What do you recommend for ribbon?
If you plan to have ribbon on your cake please always refer to your contract first. Especially when it comes to sizing.
For the best results, please buy ribbon that is:
- 100% Nylon, Rayon or Polyester
- Left on the bolt
Let's chat about what this really means....
- It's time to break up with Silk, cotton and/or acetate ribbon. It's not you, it's your ribbon. Those materials just don't display well against the buttercream or fondant. They can't help it, but it's true.
- Bows are pretty and all but maybe leave the bowties to your groomsmen. This means avoid ribbon with wires in it. Sorry wires.
- Feeling moody? If you are having dark colors for your theme, choose one shade lighter in ribbon. Once it is on the cake it will appear darker. It's like magic or something.
- No one likes wrinkled ribbon- keeping it wrapped up nice and orderly on the bolt will help keep it pretty!
- Flaws, we all got 'em and that includes some ribbon. No matter how hard it tries, sometimes production errors happen at the ribbon factory and suddenly pretty ribbon has a hole in the middle of the yard. Solution? Always get an extra yard than planned.
